THAT kinda week

You know its going to be one of THOSE weeks when the first thing you have to deal with is a major blockage in the plumbing! What started out as just the kitchen sink and then the loo not flushing right turned into major flooding in the bathroom when we showered and in the laundry when doing the washing within 24 hours. The first night we did the usual Draino down the pipes thinking that would clear it. Obviously that didn't work and in the end we had to get the water people out.,luckily the block as out on the street, so it cost nothing to get it fixed!Still it put us out a fair bit that's for sure.Needless to say very little sleep was had in that time  (chores still need doing even if things are against you!) and not much else got done either. I am so glad that's all over with, mind you its going to take the carpet in the hall a while to dry after the water overflowed from the bathroom to there.

The end of the week didn't get much better either. Rosemary's little guinea pig had not been looking too good for about a week. We had to separate her from her friend Lexi because she was getting picked on a lot and it just got beyond the joke. She went down hill pretty quick and unfortunately we lost her Friday morning. Poor Rosemary was beside herself with grief. She was such an amazing Guinea, always the underpig, and though i know you should never have favourites she was kind of every ones favourite. We have decided that we will not be getting any more Guinea. When Lexi goes that will be it. We have not done too well with them and I am not sure why.

We did have some good times though. Friday was a glorious and sunny day...in mid winter you take advantage of those days cause they can be few and far between. So Tigerlily and i took a train into the gardens to wander and explore.

We always try to look for animals/ birds and other interesting things on our wanders. This time we found a Willy Wagtail,
A lady bird and another little insect which we are not sure of.One things for sure, we know now that lady birds like pine trees. This one was found on a pine cone, and two years ago our live Xmas tree came coated in beautiful little lady birds.
 Our girls love this statue.
We took our art journals and pencils with us to draw if the mood took us, unfortunately they proved a pest to carry so next time we head out we will take pictures and draw when we get home.
 Pooh Sticks at a bridge.
Making wishes in the fountain. And what did Tigerlily wish for? That there would be no more animal cruelty.
Every explorer needs a walking stick.
Which can double as a tool to play in the mud and water with.
And of course we have to see the dog statue on the way home.
Still taking advantage of the nice weather Rosemary and I headed to the beach today for some mother/daughter time. We began by getting lunch at the local bakery (an meat pie and cake for Rosemary and a spinach and veggie pastie and cake for me) and then headed to the local playground to eat. While we were there Rosemary made friends with an itty bitty puppy that was following her everywhere.
We wandered a little while, let the waves chase us and picked up some little shells and sea glass.

Rosemary was very tired today so we didn't make it very far. We headed back to the play ground for a while. We will have to go back soon, but there is rain due for most of the rest of the week. With luck it might be gone by the weekend.

I hope you're feeling better and have some good meds now, and I'm so sorry to hear about the Guinea Pig.

It looks like you've had some really good times as well though, and a super belated Happy Birthday to Tigerlily!
